17th Mediterranean Folk Dance Festival
Larnaca, Cyprus
12-17 September 2024
The 17th Mediterannean Folklore Dance Festival is organized in collaboration with the Nicosia Folk Association and Larnaca Municipality. The festival is organized in the heart of the Mediterranean Sea and welcomes folk dance groups from all over the world. Cyprus rich in history and culture is waiting for everybody to live the experience.
In the festival are accepted
- Folk Dance groups
- Folk Choirs
- Folk music groups
Conditions of Participation
- All groups from all countries are welcome (not only the Mediterranean)
- Participants must be over 15 years old
- Groups can perform with live or recorded music
- Each group should prepare 3 different performances of 10 minutes
- Performances and parades will take place at the festival (3-10 minutes)
- 6 performances (10 minutes each)
- Parades and short street performances (3-5 minutes in the streets)
- An exhibition of costumes and products will be organised and groups will participate in its opening ceremony
- Groups can sell products from their countries
- All groups will exhibit traditional costumes of their countries
- The tourist programme will be organised too with
- Parties
- Cruise
- Sightseeing in Larnaca
- Optional excursions around Cyprus
- All groups must arrive on 12 September 2024
- All groups must depart on 17 September 2024 after breakfast
- Groups can prolong their stay after agreement
