International Choir Festival and Competition “Mikis Theodorakis”

The International Choir Festival and Competition festival is coordinated by Municipal Choir of Nafpaktos Municipality. The festival is going to take place 16-19 2025
Festival Identity
✓ The festival is devoted to the Great Greek Composer Mikis Theodorakis
✓ The festival has both non competitive and an optional competitive character
✓ Every choir is welcome (children, youth, adult, mixed, equal voices etc)
✓ Any kind of repertoire is welcome
✓ You must sing 1 song composed by Mikis Theodorakis (scores can be sent to you if
you wish)
Performances
✓ Performances will take place according in Nafpaktos
✓ You can give 1 or 2 performances according to your choice
✓ Piano will be on stage.
✓ Other instruments can be provided after agreement (however, it is better if you
carry them with you)
✓ If you would like to have more performances they can be arranged in nearby
Municipalities.
Competition Rules
✓ Choirs must sing a capella or with piano
✓ Choirs will sing without soloists
✓ Choirs will sing 4 songs totally
✓ Total programme must be no more than 25 minutes including entrance and exit
✓ At least one song must be a composition of Mikis Theodorakis
✓ The other 3 songs can be of free choice (they can be of Mikis Theodorakis too)
✓ The following categories of Medals are provided
o Bronze Medal 60,00-75,00 points
o Silver Medal 75,01-90,00 points
o Golden Medal 90,01-100 points
o The choir that gets the highest score will get a monetary prize too (the exact amount will be announced)
✓ All choirs (both in the competition and not competition part) will receive diplomas of
participation
Accommodation
- Accommodation will take place in hotel in the famous seaside town of Nafpaktos (according to your choice)
- Arrival on Friday 16 May 2025
- Departure on Monday 19 May 2025
- Accommodation can be prolonged if you want after the agreement.

- The historical town of Mesollogi with its famous lagoon
- Monasteries
